Dean welcomes freshmen to FoA
The Dean, Faculty of Arts, Prof. Ephraim Wahome welcomed 1,800 new students to the Faculty for the academic year 2021/2022. In his address to the freshmen, Prof. Wahome called on the students to focus on their studies even as they navigate through the ups and downs of campus life.
“You have now joined the premier University in the region. Your parents and guardians have a lot of expectations in you. Do not let them down. Work hard. Attend your classes and hand in your assignments on time. Engage your lecturers, they are very knowledgeable and don’t forget to sign up for extracurricular activities such as sports and clubs,” he said.
The first years reported on Monday, September 20, 2021. The students were taken through orientation which was to a large extent Faculty-based. The new students, students were exposed in detail to the facilities in the respective Faculty and in general to those of the entire University.
The orientation acquaints the students with the University policies and procedures, helps the students adjust to the new life at the university, introduces the students to senior officials of the university, familiarizes the students with the facilities and amenities available in the university, which include libraries, lecture theatres, laboratories, bookstore, welfare facilities such as medical, counseling, disability, accommodation, catering, sports and games and chaplaincy, social activities, clubs and societies.
The Faculty of Arts congratulates and welcomes all the students who have been selected for various degree programmes at this premier university.
